Kick-off meeting for the CouTech project at IB PAS

On the last day of July, our Institute hosted a kick-off meeting for the Center for Technologically Useful Organisms (CouTech) project, No. FEMP.01.04-IZ.00-0268/24. The meeting was opened by the Institute's Director, Prof. Lucyna Śliwa. She emphasized the strategic importance of the project and the need for a modern research infrastructure to support the Institute's development. The main substantive assumptions, timeline, financial framework, and key investment needs necessary to achieve the planned project indicators and results were then presented.

This is an important step in implementing the project, worth PLN 20,019,461.96, co-financed by the European Funds for Małopolska 2021–2027 with PLN 13,860,307.77. This investment will enable the purchase of modern research infrastructure, collaboration between science and industry, and the development of research services in a "living lab" format. CouTech will be a unique platform in Poland, enabling, among other things, collecting and sharing data on organisms with proven technological potential in view of sustainable development, innovation, and knowledge transfer to the industry.

We thank all meeting participants for their attendance and engagement. We are now beginning intensive work – exciting years of development lie ahead!
