Innovative technology for the production of bioactive algal extracts – new patent

We are pleased to announce that our Institute has been granted a patent for the invention entitled "Method for obtaining algal extracts with a high concentration of antioxidants and the application of extracts from the green alga Klebsormidium dissectum in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products" (P.445985).

The developed technology enables the efficient production of algal extracts characterized by an exceptionally high content of antioxidant compounds. These compounds play a key role in neutralizing free radicals and, consequently, in slowing down cellular aging processes and supporting the body’s natural protective mechanisms.

The solution has potential applications across multiple sectors of the economy. In the food industry, it may serve as a natural ingredient with health-promoting properties, while in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries it can be used as a component of formulations supporting immunity, protecting cells, delaying aging processes, and shielding the skin from oxidative stress.

The patent represents an important step toward the implementation of sustainable technologies based on natural resources and confirms the high level of research conducted at the Institute in the fields of biotechnology and cell biology.

The inventor of the technology is Dr. Michał Adamski.
