The ToBeLawn team has prepared a lesson plan for primary school teachers, allowing children to learn about nature through direct observation. The activities encourage students to leave the classroom and discover urban greenery – lawns, trees, and shrubs – and their tiny inhabitants as a vital part of the ecosystem. Through hands-on exercises, children will learn why proper urban greenery management is crucial for residents’ quality of life, biodiversity, and climate change mitigation. The plan demonstrates that even an ordinary roadside lawn harbours a wealth of life and can become a starting point for conversations about nature, environmental responsibility, and the role of humans in shaping urban landscapes.

The materials have been made available to primary schools across Poland to support teachers in implementing modern environmental education. The plan can be found here (PDF file). Feel free to download it.
