  • Phylogenetics and phylogeography, with special focus on arctic-alpine organisms.
  • Evolution, ecology, and phylogeography of interspecific interactions.
  • Conservation biology.
  • Development of new next-generation-sequencing-based techniques, including the ones for degraded DNA (from museum, ancient, and environmental samples).
